Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are critical to our ability to fulfill the mission IMG 1339of The ROCK! We welcome volunteers with a wide range of skills and interests and we have opportunities for both adult volunteers and youth volunteers. If you want to volunteer your time and talent where you can make a difference to the community, The ROCK is ready!

Please review the Volunteer opportunities below, complete and submit a volunteer application (below) and we’ll contact you within the month. Some volunteer roles require a background check and training, based on the volunteer role in which you’re interested. We look forward to having you as part of The ROCK Team!

Adult Volunteer Opportunities (Ages 18 and above)

AfterSchool ROCK!

The ROCK is open Monday – Thursday, 2:30 – 6:30 pm during the school year. Students come after school and enjoy using the computers, working on homework, playing video games or sports, doing crafts, martial arts, cooking, or just hanging out with friends. There is no cost to attend and each student has the opportunity to enjoy a free snack/light meal before they head home for the evening.

We need volunteers from 2:30 to 6:00 pm each day. You can work in the kitchen to prepare the snack/meal, help with homework, play video games, do crafts or participate in a variety of ways. You can volunteer once a week, once a month, or as often as you wish!

Club ROCK!

Club ROCK is held each Friday from 2:30 to 10:30 pm. If you enjoy teens we have a need for volunteers to assist in the gym, the game room, at the Café counter, in the theater room, checking youth in at the front desk or leading an activity or craft. If you prefer to work in the “background” you can volunteer to help in the kitchen! Volunteers can sign up for as short a period as one hour or for the whole night. You can sign up to help once a month or every Friday!

ROCK Unplugged Special Events

The ROCK hosts and co-hosts several large community-wide events each year. Opportunities for service range from setup, to managing registration, serving refreshments, cleaning up, taking photos…the roles are endless! If you’re interested in being contacted to support a large event, let us know and we’ll add your name to the roster!

ROCK Administrative

The ROCK offices are open five days a week from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. There is always much to be done to support the fantastic programs we offer to the youth. Volunteers can sign up to work for an hour or two at a time to assist with making copies, preparing activities, stuffing envelopes, data entry, etc.

IMG 1122ROCK Climbing Wall!

The ROCK owns and rents to businesses, community organizations and private parties, a 24-foot mobile ROCK climbing wall. If you are interested in being part of The ROCK Climbing Wall team, contact us. Opportunities for service include hauling the wall to events, setting up, breaking down, and managing climbers. All team members are insured by The ROCK and receive specialized training to ensure the safety of team members and climbers.

ROCK Maintenance

If you like to clean, repair, mow, shovel or garden, there is a volunteer opportunity waiting for you at the ROCK. We have a large and active facility that is always in need of maintenance, repair or just a little spit and polish. In the summertime, you can help us out and enjoy a few relaxing hours on our riding mower! Just let the office know your skills and interests and we’ll be in touch!

Youth Volunteer Opportunities (6th through 12th Grade)

Youth volunteers are a huge help to The ROCK staff and volunteers and there are many opportunities available! The ROCK encourages youth to give back to The ROCK and the community. It’s a great way to prepare for entry into the world of work and to have fun at the same time!

Club ROCK!

Youth volunteers are welcome to assist in the Café, the front desk or in the gym. Help keep Club ROCK
